There was no plan for today except get a gp appointment which I finally got the callback at 13.45 telling me I have an appointment for tomorrow 😀😀😀
So off to London I went made it there at 15.30 for once, without any train drama!!! Went in via Victoria and went straight to the elephant and castle.
Decided to eat dinner because Wetherspoons are doing reduced food (via the app discount applied on checkout) between 14.00 and 17.00. Had fish and chips with a pint of cider £8.59 reduced from £11.18 and the fish was huge!!!! Very yummy.
With the free Wi-Fi at the pub I checked the train home, unfortunately all trains after the 22.15 turned into buses at Brighton 😡😡 but it was, may be possible??? that I could make it to Victoria... decided not too worry and go see things, what things I had no idea so I just walked and found a ton of elephants!!!
Metal elephants that told a story, wooden elephants and painted elephants it was lovely just wondering around finding things. Kept seeing the shard I’ve never seen the top shrouded in mist/clouds before.
Lightbulb moment!!!! Instead of going home via Victoria, London Bridge looks closer. Checked and yep 10 mins to London Bridge, 26 mins to Victoria. Down side I have to change trains at Haywards heath and may not get a seat!!! But better than a 2hr 40min journey home!!!!
After planning my route home I popped to the theatre to see what there wine policy was. Basically no time to pop to the shops after the show, so I asked the doorman if they had a cloak room they did not. I then asked if I would be allowed to bring a bottle of wine in to the theatre kept in my bag for the journey home. 99% of theatres you are not allowed. Doorman asked the manager and he said yes😁😁😁 so a quick trip to Tesco and I had wine for the journey home I had already picked up a sandwich from Sainsbury’s for 60p.
Finally it was time for the play Windfall paid £20 reduced from £25 seat a15. Its a small intimate theatre and the play was very good, I can’t really tell you about it because it would spoil it!!! But basically it’s about a group of office workers and one has a premonition that they are going to win the lottery and for it to come true they have to do everything just right... as you can imagine it all goes wrong!!! And madness follows!!! It’s written by the same people that wrote the play that goes wrong. It was good.
Then came the mad dash to London Bridge which was a lot easier and quicker than I thought I had about 10 minutes to spare!!!
Down side the train was jam packed luckily I got a seat. Changed trains at Haywards heath and again managed to get a seat and finally I could eat and a drink of wine!!! The other train was far to busy!!!
Should make it home by midnight currently at hassock
Walked 6miles and had a lovely day finding elephants!!!
