Went in via Victoria and it was a mad rush to get to St. Paul’s for 12.30 as I was meeting a friend and her family and we were going on a special behind the scenes tour of the trifolium (St Paul's attic) 140 steps up!!
It was a fantastic tour cost an extra £10 each but as nhs my friend and I got in to St. Paul’s for free as did the kids, my friends parents had to pay to get in to St. Paul’s, so they didn’t do the extra tour, but they get a year’s access to St. Paul’s now for free, they walked round St. Paul’s while we did the tour.
The tour was fantastic well worth it, lots of historical facts learnt.
After the tour my friend her son and I decided it would be a fantastic idea to walk to the top of St. Paul’s, her daughter decided to join grandma and grandpa and not go to the top.....not sure who was right ........ very pleased we did it but
NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!
528 steps!!!!
Flat or hills I can go for miles!!!!
Steps I hate them my knees hate them, my back hates them, I hate hyper mobility!!!!!!
We had already done 140 to do the tour only a couple of hundred more🤣😂🤣
160 ish to the whispering gallery, well we made it to the whispering gallery that was closed.....ok only another 100ish steps to the stone gallery, it fine just keep on going......the steps were getting steeper and the corridors narrower.
But whow!! Finally made it and what fantastic 360 views, it was stunning.
Then it was the last push to the golden gallery, metal spiral staircases!!!!!! I hate metal spiral staircases!!!!!!
Another hundred or so steps and we finally emerge at the golden gallery.
I am not ashamed to admit that at one point the staircases was so narrow and the steps so steep and hardly any head room I went up using my hands and feet in a crawl!!!!
But we made it!!!!
528 steps up!!!!
Again 360 views absolutely astonishing breathtaking well worth the climb!!!
Of cause what goes up must come down!!!!!
Going down was definitely more pain full on my knees, hate going down steps on a good day now i had 528!!!! To go down!!
It was a slow painful process but I made it!!!! as did my friend and her son!!!!
Trust me for my friend and I this is a huge accomplishment!!!
Never doing it again, but we’ve done it.
Finally back on the ground floor found everyone else and had to sit down my legs were jelly!!
Eventually after a quick walk round St. Paul’s we left and went to see the animals tea party!!!
Then it was dinner at McDonald’s 50% off thanks to the app so 5 medium meal’s 20 nuggets and a coffee came in at £17.31 instead of £34.62!!!!!
We then walked to the seven ages of man aka the William Shakespeare heads!!!
I absolutely love this statue, it's amazing.
After, it was the millennium bridge to see chewing gum art, then the reflection garden which is stunning and then on to the one change building terrace to see St. Paul’s and how high we had climbed!!!!
Next we shared a well deserved bottle of wine and a rest in the postman’s park.
Eventually we had to move and head to Shepards bush and find St. John the Baptist church which had the earth in it!!!
Whow!!!!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful
There was also a rabbit in a basket??? Absolutely no idea why and it had nothing to do with the church!!!
We then got the bus to Gloucester Road station and grabbed a Tesco meal deal for dinner and eventually made it to Victoria!!!
There may of been a bit of wine and lots of laughs on the way home!!!
