Yesterday was definitely an emotional rollercoaster!!!!

Started differently, had to pop to Worthing hospital for a chest X-ray, I can’t shift this cough!!! then it was straight to the station and off to London!!!

The train was delayed... but still made it to London before 2pm, which had been my original plan (hospital waiting time dependent)

First stop , a church, all hallows by the tower and the crypt museum. The church was lovely, but the museum in the crypt, was fascinating!!!

Definitely a hidden gem, one of the main reasons I went to the crypt museum was to see the birds nest from Shackletons boat, unfortunately it is not there as it’s on loan to Canada!!!!!

After the church, I walked along the Thames towards St Katharine dock. On the way seeing the girl and the dolphin, it’s the first time I’ve seen her in daylight!!!

I then I stood and watched as a foot bridge was opened so a barge could go through, not something you see everyday.

Eventually made it to St Katharine dock and found the crown monolith that was used in the film, 2001 a space odyssey!!! also looked for the royal barge but only found a sign for it, no barge ☹️☹️

Next I made my way back to Tower Hill station and I finally found the light up tiger!!! Been trying to find him for years!! I definitely need to come back when it’s dark!!!

Jumped on the tube to mansion house and found the statue called the barge master and swan marker, something that has been on my too see list for ages.

It was a quick walk to the royal exchange where ( and I have no idea why he is there) I found darth vader fishing???!!!!! Yep no clue but very cool

I then went out of a side entrance of the royal exchange and found a water fountain that again had been on my list to find for a long while!!!! I still can’t believe how I have missed it over the years!!!!!

Next up was the first London coffee shop....yeah no words to explain how annoyed I am that I haven’t found it sooner!!!! It’s just behind the church!!!!!!!!! that I have passed a ton of times!!!!! The coffee plaque/shop was one of the first places to make it on my original list!!! Yep it’s taken me forever to find it and it’s just round the corner of the church!!!!!!!!!

I then walked to the bus stop, could of taken the underground, it would of been quicker, but then I would of missed seeing St Paul’s, the court’s of justices and a ton of other stuff, besides I had the time.

Got off the bus at Charing Cross and went to my favourite McDonald’s and had a coffee and a quarter pounder with cheese for £2.49 yep had an offer on the app.

I had just finished my coffee and was debating whether to get another one, still had 2hrs before the show, when a horde of school kids walked in with their teachers......peace and quiet definitely gone!!!!!

Believe me the pics do not show them all, they basically filled the whole seated part of the restaurant!!!!

Decided to leave!!! Got outside and saw more of them!!! Like yellow ants everywhere!!!!

Popped to Sainsbury’s and bought a can of gin and rosé lemonade for £1.60 instead of having another coffee sitting on the most comfortable sofa at McDonald’s in the warm!!!

Jumped on the bus to Aldwych and found a lovely seating area, last time I was in London it was a building site. I found a seat and I sat drank my gin and watched the world go by remembering that where I was sat was once a road!!!! I have to admit the seating is much better and definitely needed, there is nowhere it sit in that part of London and now there is!!! It was a bit cold though

After the can of gin i suddenly realised I was opposite somerset house so I popped in, definitely a place I need to visit in the day time and for longer!!!!

I think I also found the Indian embassy it had some lovely stone work on it.

Finally it was time for Tina turner the musical.

Made it to the theatre,!had a second row seat (I thought it was front row) A16 paid £25 reduced from £69.

What a fantastic show absolutely spectacular, the actress that played Tina was amazing!!!

BUT there are scenes of domestic violence in the show. It is not like watching it on the TV it’s there in-front of you, it’s harsh and it’s horrible especially if you have lived through something similar. I don’t usually think of trigger warnings but this is a warning for anyone thinking of seeing the show.

The second half was spectacular full of amazing songs and wow can the actress who played Tina can sing!!!!!!

After the show it was the usual mad dash to the station, popping to Tesco on the way for food and wine, I definitely deserved the wine 100%!!!!

Made it to Victoria at 22.46!!! 1 minute late!!!!

The one time I need the train to be delayed by 2/3/4mins and of cause it’s on time!!!!!

Eventually got on the 23.15 train would of made it home by 1am but between shoreham and lancing the driver had to go dead slow due to reports of someone on the track!!!!!!

So made it home at 01.12, not too late

Walked 9 miles but feels more!!

It’s definitely been an emotional day but on the whole a good day
