So first visit of the new year to london and it was a bit of a mixed bag

First of all I over slept!!!

Didn't make it to london till 2.30!!! Usually there at 11.30!!!

Started off in Whitechapel and it was raining!!!

Walked to the royal London hospital museum but it was closed. Knew this was a possibility as it's staffed by volunteers and trip advisor reviews said this happens.

So next I walked to the cable street mural, got lost, nearly went arse over tit on wet slippery paving stones!!!

Boy did it chuck it down!!!

I now know my coat is not 100% water proof in torrential continuous rain and neither are my shoes!!!!!!

Finally found the mural which is stunning.

So, soaking wet. I then made my way to tower hill to the tower hill memorial in honour of those that died at sea in WW1 and WW2. Also found a fascinating sun dial that tracks the major events in London from 43AD to 1992 such as when the city was distroyed in 61AD by boudicca. And in 1937-1419 dick Whittington was lord mayor 4 times truly fascinating.

By this point it had finally stopped raining, I'm soaked to the skin, freezing cold and I needed a pee!!! And no I'm not paying 50p!!! To go to the toilet near the tower of London!!!

Hopped on the train to St Paul’s and went to the one change building, free toilets and a free water refilling station 😃😃😃

Found out that if I held my hands at just the right angel under the hand dryer, the hot air goes up the arms and all through my coat and blows up like the Mitchelin man😂😂😂 but at least I was slightly dryer and warmer!!!

As I was there I popped up to the roof terrace again to see st Paul and London stunning as always.

Then it was on to Holborn Station and dinner at McDonald's, £1.99 for a quarter pounder with cheese and chips thanks to the metro voucher.

I then walked to Covent Garden and had a wonder round and looked in some shops.

Found a pret for a 99p filter coffee and a sit down.

Then it was time for the highlight of my day, school of rock the stage show. Whow it was absolutely fantastic, this is one show I would definitely see again. The kids were amazing and played all their own instruments!!!!! Know this because we were told at the beginning and because the band/orchestra could be seen not playing. Managed to get a front row central seat for £20!!!!

All in all a mixed bag still managed to walk over 8 miles!!!! Definitely no idea how!!!!
