Well the aim of today was to not do a lot of walking!!!
In London with my friend and she has a crutch and in pain when she walks.
So we went to London late with the aim of dinner, theatre and home, simple.....
We started our day at Victoria station and decided to get a bus to Holborn. 30 mins of waiting we gave up on that, so we got on the underground, Victoria line followed the signs to the lift, miles out of our way to find out it was out of order!!!!!!!!!!! So walked back again!!! Eventually made it to Holborn station when the clouds opened and it rained, torrential rain!!!! Eventually we made it to the Shakespeare head pub and after 1hr 20mins in London we had a pint!!! Should of only takes 30 mins 😂🤣😂
Dinner was yummy at the Shakespeare head and after we headed to the peacock theatre to see Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. Of cause we were early so we just wondered around found the upside down globe, the back of the justice building and all sorts of things.
Eventually it was time for the theatre. That was when we found out that Queen Elizabeth had passed away, it was so sad. The theatre was fantastic, they did a 2 min silence and played the national anthem, Amanda and I had tears running down our faces. We watch the first part of the ballet, It was an all male cast doing comic dance to traditional ballet. Like swan lake.
Both Amanda and I agreed we were not enjoying it, not because it was bad but we’re had tears in our eyes and we were sad due to the death of our queen, any other day we would of been laughing with everyone else.
In the interval we both knew we didn’t want to be at the theatre so we left popped to co-op grabbed reduced sandwiches and some flowers and went to Buckingham palace to say goodbye.
There were so many people at Buckingham Palace and the atmosphere was strange to. A lovely policeman place our flowers in front of Buckingham Palace. I’m extremely glad that we went, got soaked again, but it was well worth it to say goodbye to an amazing woman.
Eventually we had to get to Victoria station so decided to walk.
Yeah we won’t do much walking 😂🤣😂🤣
On the train home now walked 6 miles it was a good but emotional day xx
