Well it’s been an interesting day!!

Got on the 11.34 train made it to Haywards heath....12.40 ish and it all went wrong!!!!!!

The original plan was to go to the shrek adventure at 14.00 and the London eye 16.00 and see jersey boys 19.30......

After sitting at haywards heath for a while having found out that all trains had stopped due to an unfortunate soul jumping on the tracks, found out that the train I was on would go to three bridges and then terminate. Decided to go to three bridges as the trains from the south and the south east (Horsham, Chichester etc) meet up there, lots of train lines more of a chance something will be open???......made it to three bridges and hung around for a while, then heard there was a train to Gatwick airport, jumped on that train as I was starving hungry and cold.

My thinking was that Gatwick has shops, lovely toilets and would be warmer.

Made it to Gatwick got food, a Boots £5!!!! Meal deal (expensive!!) and ate it, I have to say I needed it and it was good!!

By this point I knew I wasn't going anywhere soon.

Last time this happened my son was about 7/8ish and it took 4 hour before we could get on a train home.

So I spent a lovely 3/4 hours at Gatwick!!!

All the boards saying one thing, app saying another, Web site saying another and the staff saying another or just having no idea!!!!

So I decided to played on the walking, moving, flat, escalator things, I was going to get the train to the north terminal just for something to do, but you have to go through security etc so couldn’t do that. I went for a walk, watched the planes take off and was very very bored!!!!!!

The main entrance to get to the train platforms was heaving, they stopped letting anyone onto the platforms that way and eventually they closed the station and started making everyone que outside!!!! luckily I worked out that if you went back to the platform exit the ticket gates were open and no one was there!!!! Otherwise I would of spent hours trying to get back onto the platform!!!

Eventually at 16.15 a train to Victoria appeared 😀😀😀 made it to Victoria at 16.45!!!!

Victoria was packed with people trying to go south. At this point I had had enough of people and crowds!!!!!! So decided to walk to Buckingham palace and then through st James park to Trafalgar Square and see what I could see along the way rather than get on the underground.

Found Buckingham palace and lots of birds, swans, geese, mallards and coots in St James’s Park. I even found a squirrel who came up and looked in my hand!!! First time I had nothing the next time a bit of old biscuit I found, he was not impressed!!!!

I then walked to the statue of the queen mother and king George VI, I love this memorial it is so beautiful.

After I just walked, I found a ton of memorials. Charles de Gaulle, Florence nightingale, Robert Scott to name a few, I had a lovely time!!!

Eventually I made it to Trafalgar square where I sat and relaxed with a rose gin in a tin whilst watching the world go by, I love people watching.

Finally it was time to head to the theatre, Jersey boys at the Trafalgar theatre, my seat was E1, paid £20 reduced from £60!!! It was an amazing show!!! I didn’t realise how many of the four seasons songs I knew!!!! Really talented actors and singers. Definitely worth seeing!!!

Of cause then the mad dash to get the train home, made the 22.45 this week with time to spare!!! Food and wine, also acquired along the way 😀😀😀

Walked 7 and a half miles and should be home by 00.30!!!!

It’s definitely been a stressful day, but I’ve had fun
