Started at Victoria and went to find the statue of queen Victoria. Found her in a lovely little square in a locked off residence only garden, but I could still get close enough.
I then popped to get a better picture of the lioness and lesser kudu, I need it for the blog!!!
That was all I had planned!!!!
So I decided to walk through St James park, got to Buckingham palace and saw a ton of seats, all ready for the king’s coronation!! Most of the flags were up too.
Decided to walk the other way round st James, usually I just walk straight to Westminster but I walked the other side of the lake today.
Whow is was beautiful, cold but beautiful. There were some baby geese and tons of coots and a few swans and mallards.
It was lovely just being out and about.
I did pop to the mall, it was closed to traffic!!
Horse guards also had a ton of seats and I found some flag polls with names on, not had a chance to check but I’m assuming they are all countries.
Walked to Admiralty arch on the road simply because I could!!!
I then went Harry Potter finding, found the place used In order of the phoenix where the entrance to the ministry of magic was.
After I walked up an alley way why?? Because I could!!! found a lovely little square.
By now I’m hungry so nipped to Tesco’s and got a sandwich meal deal, drank the smoothie and yogurt, saved my sandwich for later.
It was theatre time a matinee, Phantom of the Opera!!! again!!!! I know I’ve seen it before but it’s closing soon and then it will be gone!!!
My seat was A23 I paid £45. Original price was £89 reduced to £65 and I had a £20 voucher!!!
The view was amazing the leg room was nonexistent!!!! And unfortunately halfway through the first half my knees kicked off and the pain would not stop, absolute agony and the only way to stop it is to straighten my legs and it will go away, except there’s no leg room just a board in front of me so I did the unthinkable and I got up!!!!!! Clambered all over people and ended up in seat H36 which was ok, best of all I was out of pain!!!!
During the interval I spoke to the box office (all the staff were amazing and so understanding) and they moved me to E6!!! Much better view but to the side and best of all, a ton of leg room.
So lesson learnt do not sit front row to watch phantom of the opera if you have bad knees!!!
The show was spectacular I could happily watch it over and over!!!
After the show I just walked around and ended up at embankment Gardens. The flowers were stunning and I sat drinking red wine out of a paper cup, eating a pawn mayo sandwich and watching the world go by.
It was heaven but a bit nippy!!
Eventually I got cold and decided to go for a walk and see what I could see. Walked through Whitehall gardens and round to the ministry of defence found some amazing architectural statues.
It was eventually time for part two of the theatre!!!
Yep I booked two shows in one day!!!
The second show was at my favourite theatre the charring cross theatre to see glory ride.
I managed to get a seat, programme and a glass of bubbly for £25.50!!! Just the seat on its own is normally £33.
I thought I had booked a front row seat turned out I had booked the back row!!!! But it worked out really well for me because just before the show started they said we could move forward!!! I ended up in seat D1 (£43!!) way better than front row as the stage was so high and I could see everything!!!! And what a fantastic show!!!
A musical all about Gino Bartali he won the Tour de France and helped get Jews out of Italy. Google his name it’s an amazing story and the show was fantastic!!! Definitely recommended.
It was then the mad dash to Victoria yet again train’s turned into busses but I made to 10.16!!!! Got to Haywards heath and realised that I was in the wrong part of the train!!!!! Another seat change!!!!! Now on the right part of the train I made it home at 11.55pm
I walked 8 1/2 miles!! Not sure how and that’s the thing about my knees I can walk miles but I can not sit with my knees bent for a long time without pain!!! I also struggle with stairs sometimes!!
But knee pain and musical chairs aside I had a fantastic day.
