Another last minute day in London thanks to bargain priced tickets!
Went in via London Bridge and went monkey hunting!!! (temporary now gone and I don't know where)
Managed to find them all but number 4!! So asked the security guard in the hay’s gallery if he knew where it was. Turns out, he did and explained that they couldn’t put it in its original place because the machine used to move it wouldn’t fit under the arch!!! We had a lovely natter while he pointed me in the right direction for the last monkey!!
After finding all the monkeys I decided (stupidly) to walk to St. Paul’s thinking, it’s not too far.....yes it was!!!! Especially after the week of work/overtime and a day at butlins with the family!!!
But I made it, seeing all sorts on the way and finally finding the “serious incident happen here” plaque that I looked for with my sister!!!
I then just wondered around, was going to go on the beach in front of the globe theatre but after walking down the stair I found out the end was missing and it was a rather large drop. Getting down would be fine but there was no way I could get back up again!!! So I gave it a miss and went in the tate modern, with the plan of going to the viewing gallery but it was closed so , of cause I used the toilet and then went and found the moving sculpture that doesn’t move anymore!!!
At this point I had no plan, so I just wondered again and found some lovely sculptures.
Finally made it back to the millennium bridge where I met the chewing gum artist again (he is a lovely gentleman and happy to chat even though he was filming something) and I asked him about the tiles on the underground, which I have yet to find one!!!!! He was lovely and told me there were 2 at St. Paul’s station at the top of the stairs!!!!
Off I rushed to St. Paul’s station and I found them OMG it is no surprise I haven’t found any they are tiny!!!!!!!but I found them 😁😁😁 dead chuffed 😀😀
Next I got the bus towards Charing Cross but changed my mind. Original I was headed for Charing Cross McDonald’s but got off near Drury lane and went to Tescos (yep the one I bumped my head at!!) for a meal deal and changed my mind again.....heaven so many yellow reduced stickers 😁😁😁😁 lucky I had filled my water bottle up at St. Paul’s so I grabbed some wraps and walked to Victoria embankment and sat rested and refilled.
Next stop the royal Albert hall to see Michael Bourne car man it was fantastic paid £5 for my seat reduced from £70!!!. I love the royal Albert Hall and it was fantastic to be back, my first visit since covid!!!!
It was then the mad dash to the station, via Tesco for wine 😁😁 yep it’s a wine night!! luckily made the 22.15 and made some lovely new friends on the journey home.
Walked 9 miles
I have has a fantastic day sometimes the less planned the better!!!
