Started at South Kensington and realised that it was half term!!!
Thankfully I was not going to the natural history or the science museum!!!
First stop was to the exhibition called seeing auschwitz was £10 but as I had booked with fever previously I got a discount and paid £4.32.
What a truly fantastic exhibition. Photos were allowed, they want the story to be told and it needs to be. The audio guide really bought everything to life. Absolutely fantastic and horrifying at the same time.
Next up was the Victoria and Albert museum. I’ve never really done the V&A but OMG it’s huge!!!!!
Started off in the sculpture gallery while walking to the theatre gallery to see the new exhibition called reimagining musicals. It was amazing saw costumes from the lion king, wicked, Anne, moulin rouge the list is endless!!! After I just walked and walked and walked!!!
Paintings, silver, gold, mosaics, South Asia, Islamic Middle East, and just as I’m ready to go, I found the medieval and renaissance gallery.
I was already exhausted and at some point (I have no idea where I was) I was looking at an iron cockerel!!!
Time for food and coffee
Eventually I made it out of the V&A and took the tube to Hammersmith.
McDonald’s for dinner using the app £2.49 but no chips!!! They have stopped the vouchers!!!!
After dinner I popped to Tesco express bought a baby bottle of wine and went to the Thames to sit next to Hammersmith Bridge drinking wine watching the sun go down and the world go by, heaven.
Eventually it was time for the show Cages, seat A10 £49 reduced to £25
Well what to say about Cages??? It was absolutely amazing!!!! as someone who loves things that are very different this was right up my street. Gothic rock, meets synthesiser, meets pop, but add visuals using cinema, holographic visuals, and actors, to a love story set in a dystopian universe. It was fantastic!!!!!!! Really really enjoyed it.
Now the journey home.....I have no luck with trains they are a mess.
First stop, Tesco, food and wine got, next underground
Get on the underground at Hammersmith, the Piccadilly line train got in first and the district line had no info on when the train would arrive.
Chose the Piccadilly train, change at South Kensington finally found the animals at the station!!!!
Been on my list for a long time!!!!
The Piccadilly line has not been stopping at South Kensington due to works for ages!!!!!
Anyway made it to the circle/district line train to hear the announcement “power has been cut to the line as there is an object on the line” I kid you not!!! anyway eventually we got moving made it to Victoria ran (yes I ran!!! Not a pretty sight!!) to the Gatwick express and eventually made it to Brighton where the train magically turned into a bus!!!!
Which ironically got stuck for 20mins at Portslade station because the railway crossing was down!!!!
Eventually I made it home 01.21 which all things considered was really good!!!
